What is Male Breast Reduction Surgery?

This procedure addresses abnormally large breast development in males - a condition known as gynaecomastia.
This can occur in one breast or both. It may result in enlarged breasts, breasts sagging (due to excessive breast tissue) and/or the areola (the dark skin surrounding the nipple) stretching. Sometimes gynaecomastia is confined to a firm/hard swelling directly behind the nipple. In other cases, there may be general increased size of the entire breast area. The different types of surgical treatment for correcting gynaecomastia fall into two main categories:
Where there is significant breast development and a large amount of excess skin involved, additional surgery may need to be done to remove excess skin. Scars are kept to a minimum, as much as possible, but if large amounts of skin are present, it may be necessary to make longer scars.
